I am honoured to be chosen as the new Artistic Director of the Vancouver Island Symphony. I invite you to share a unique journey as we embark upon our 29th season of concerts. I love these words that are associated with the number 29 as they truly reflect our current place in time: themes of change, progress, ambition, empathy, creativity, and sincerity. We present not only the great orchestral masterpieces but also works by living composers that will touch your soul. Every concert speaks to the power of human connection and of building new bridges through music. I am excited to bring a very special project from my motherland, Cuba.
